Restoration News

We are gradually renovating this beautiful historic building, which started life in 1898 as a Victorian playhouse, and most recently operated as a two-screen cinema. The Coronet will regain its original spirit of grandeur and occasion, while also being fully modernised to make a cultural space to rival any in London.

We currently house our productions in both the main auditorium and the 100-seater black-box studio. Seating for the main auditorium is currently limited to the circle, as we have built a stage from the stalls upwards to be level with the circle.

Longer term plans include three flexible theatre spaces; rehearsal and workshop spaces; administration offices; a restaurant and bar.
